Hill Country Rain

I’d like to thank Todd Snider for his remake of Jerry Jeff Walker’s Hill Country Rain that cycled through my music this morning.

If I win the Megamillions tonight, I’ll book us all a trip to Ambergris Caye and see if we can have as much fun as these guys did 20+ years ago:

And because it’s not necessary to reinvent the wheel every damn blog, here are the fabulous lyrics to this marvelous song:

Sometimes I just wake up hummin’
Feelin’ like this world is right
Want to jump right up and take a walk outside
And take in the morning light
feel the music running through me,yeah,
make me want to dance
Clap my hands and dance
Sometimes it just takes my lady
To smile and make this day complete
when she’s touching me
I feel free and easy to be me
Lucky to be alive
Feelin’ alright
Take a walk outside, feeling alright
People they tell me now,
I’m living too fast
Slow down now Jackie boy
let some of life pass
I don’t know no other way
Got to live it day to day
if I die before my time
When I leave I’m leaving nothing behind
no,no, but tasting every single grape on the vine
I got a feeling
Something that I can’t explain
It’s like dancing naked
In that high Hill Country rain, alright
I ain’t worried ’bout tomorrow, no
I’ll get by best I can
Lovin’ is my will to live
It makes me laugh
Want to sing and dance
Clap your hands, take a chance
come on and dance
I got a feeling
Something that I can’t explain
It’s like dancing naked
In that high Hill Country rain, ..Chorus X2
let it rain, let it rain
